PURA VIDA
Origin: Costa Rica (El Naranjo)
Roast Profile: brown roast
Suggested Brew Type: filter, espresso, latte/cappuccino
Coffee family: arabica
Variety: Catuai
Process: white honey (white honey)
Grains of flavors: caramel, fudge, raspberry
Taste profile: in filter, it is a coffee with a sweet infusion and very well balanced in terms of acidity and bitterness. The white honey process brings out the fruity side, since the grain has fermented with a small part of the fruit pulp.
In espresso alone, you can feel a biting, fruity acidity and caramelized notes on the finish reminiscent of caramel or fudge. In a latte or a cappuccino, the fruity (raspberry) and sweet (caramel) sides combine perfectly for a delicate result.
______
During the trip to the source in Costa Rica in 2020, the team fell in love with the quality of the products, the infrastructures as well as the philosophy of producer Diego from the Micro Beneficio la Bandera farm. His farm, located on the mountainside, bears witness to remarkable infrastructures and produces batches of coffees with unique flavors. From this grew a long-term partnership between Smith and Diego. Diego Hidalgo is a caring, passionate man, concerned about the well-being of his employees and the quality of his coffee. After living in the United States for ten years, he returned to Costa Rica to take over the La Bandera farm, which originally belonged to his father.
