Our story, one coffee at a time
Maison Smith is not just a café; it is an ode to conviviality , rooted in history and looking towards the future. Every espresso, every new location, every smile tells the same story: that of three founders driven by a passion for authentic service , for a space where heritage is savored, and where coffee connects people , past and present.
From 1653 to 2013
Rooted in history
Nestled in the heart of Place Royale, the first building to house La Maison Smith was erected in 1653 and would be occupied by Charles Smith and his descendants for nearly a century.
It was in 2013 that Jérôme, Mathilde and Véronic paid tribute to the Smith family and this historic place by creating La Maison Smith, a welcoming café, combining local produce and Quebec know-how.
From 2013 to today
One house, a thousand encounters
In over 10 years, La Maison Smith has consistently grown closer to its community in Quebec City, opening new branches imbued with the identity of its neighbourhood and with the Smith mobile.
Always attentive to its customers, the Smith expansion has been designed to support everyone in their daily lives (cafe, aperitif evenings, pizzas, workspaces, events, etc.).
To celebrate its 10 years of passion, the exceptional coffee, Smithville, celebrates 200 people (employees, customers and partners) who have shaped the history of Smith, by inscribing their first name on the bag.
Since 2018
Roasted authenticity
Since its first steps in roasting in 2018, La Maison Smith has continually improved its production spaces, the quality in the art of roasting its beans and its commitments to transparency and traceability.
Through its many trips to the source, the Smith team has developed close and lasting relationships with many producers around the world, sharing a common vision and commitment to quality and excellence.
